24 Weeks!

A 24 Week Update!

How far along: 24 weeks! She is about the size of an ear of corn.

Sleep: Sleep is pretty good. "Sam" the snoogle helps a lot. Getting up about 3 times to use the bathroom but I am pretty sure I'm asleep before my head hits the pillow again. And a little TMI for you...I've started to sweat at night...A LOT. Symptoms: The heartburn is out of control. Minor swelling this week, partly because I was probably on my feet too much. We started working on Tenley's nursery, I lasted about 2 hours before the lower back pain set in. Thankfully my mom and dad were there to help us!

Food Cravings: Still Mexican food. In fact I wanted Mexican so bad on Friday night I went to Habaneros ALONE and ate enough for three people..not really but it felt like it!

Gender: A sweet baby girl.

Name: Tenley Hope Arnett

Movement: Lots of strong movement! She feels very low and I think she is using my bladder as a punching bag. She kicked Mark for a good five minutes the other night! He was really excited. Mark is a "dead to the world" sleeper and he came straight up out of the bed the other morning to feel her move. It is so sweet to watch his face light up when she kicks him.
Best Pregnancy Moment: Our 3rd anniversary was Tuesday. My sweet hubby works 6 ten hour days a week, so we didn't get to celebrate until Sunday. We went to the zoo early trying to beat the heat. I only made it two hours before the heat and the walking got to me. We had a great time and we had fun using my sweet new camera he bought me! He treated me to Firebirds (our favorite!!) that night, and the Cheesecake Factory after for desert. With us being on opposite shifts and him working all the time, we only get one full day together every two weeks. It has been pretty hard on us. Hopefully our job schedules will straighten out soon.

What I Miss: I would have really enjoyed a glass of wine with my steak dinner Sunday night!!

What I'm Looking Forward To: Getting carpet in our house! We pulled up the old stuff this weekend and now we are waiting on installation. Then we can set up her furniture and start decorating!

And here is a 6 week difference for you! My sweet girl is definitely growing!

On Our Anniversary

My Dearest Husband,

Today is our third (THIRD!) anniversary, and honestly it is a little hard to believe. It seems like just yesterday I walked down the aisle to the most handsome and caring man I know. It rained poured that morning. Someone told me if it rains on your wedding day, you'll be together forever. I didn't need a little rain to tell me that. I remember getting half way down the aisle and seeing tears in your eyes. I busted out laughing because we had a running bet of who would cry. I remember you chuckling because your dainty (not so much) little bride was laughing her way down the aisle. My dad kissed me as he gave me away and as soon as we joined hands the most calming peace came over me. I was holding hands with the man I would spend the rest of my life with and I had never been more sure about anything in my life. I laughed when I repeated the "richer or POORER" part of our vowels because I knew the first year would be a struggle. (And boy was it ever.)

The thing I remember the most was our first kiss as husband and wife. I don't think Bro. Tom got out "you may kiss.." before you grabbed my face with both hands and kissed me like your life depended on it, like you had waited your whole life for that kiss.

I remember smashing our cake in each others faces, because we wouldn't be us if we didn't. We ran out of food at the reception, and between socializing and doing wedding duties we didn't get much to eat. We were starving when we left, so we stopped at Red Lobster on our way to the hotel. WHO DOES THAT!? Who leaves their wedding and stops to eat Red Lobster..
It was easily one of the best days of my life. I'm so grateful for the three years of marriage I've gotten to share with you. This is the last anniversary we will spend as our tiny family of two. Because not only have you gifted me with yourself, but you've also given me a daughter. At almost 24 weeks pregnant, I feel more loved than I ever have. Instead of going off on a romantic get away this weekend, we are going to spend it getting ready for Tenley's arrival. I think there has been a promise of steak from our favorite restaurant on Sunday night though:) They say a baby changes your marriage, and I'm sure that is true. But I can only see us becoming stronger and loving each other more, because of her. You are going to be the best daddy. I can't wait to see you with her.
So on our third anniversary, I want you to know how amazing I think you are. How much I love you. You have my whole heart, forever and always.
Your wife,
Caitlin

22 Weeks!

A 22 Week Update!

How far along: 22 weeks! She is about the size of a spaghetti squash..is that the same thing as a yellow squash??? Most of the weekly updates I get say she is about a pound.
A lot of the weekly pregnancy blog updates ask about belly buttons and stretch marks. So far no stretch marks on my belly. I haven't been using anything mostly because I don't like the way the Palmers lotion smells/feels. I've also heard if you are going to get them there is nothing to prevent them. We will see! As far as my belly button goes, it used to be a deep 'innie'. Now it is a very shallow 'innie', almost flush with my stomach. I feel like it will probably pop out any day now!
Sleep: Sleep is ok, I find myself waking up more to go to the bathroom.
Symptoms: Yall, if they had a "who had the most heartburn while pregnant" contest, I would win. Hands down. It has been so awful. No amount of Tums or Zantac 75 helps.
I also noticed my feet swelling some this week, and I know I need to curb the salt intake..

Food Cravings: Still Mexican food.

Gender: A sweet baby girl.

Name: Tenley Hope Arnett

Movement: She's a mover alright! She likes to move after I eat, almost like she is excited. HA! She hasn't given her daddy any more kicks but I know those are coming as she grows and becomes stronger.
Best Pregnancy Moment: This really doesn't count as a pregnancy moment, but we have been extremely busy lately. Mark and I are now on opposite schedules and it seems like we never see each other. We spent the whole day Sunday together and it was definitely much needed.

What I Miss: I miss easily getting out of bed, sleeping on my back, and eating whatever I want.
What I'm Looking Forward To: We bought her crib and dresser last week! I can't wait to paint her room and get everything set up. We also have her 22 week appointment this week.

20 Weeks!

20 Week Update!

How far along: 20 weeks and there has been a certain Bon Jovi song stuck in my head all week...you know the one about being "half way there!"
Sleep: Sleep is great. We named the Snoogle "Sam" so recently 'Sam' has gotten a lot more cuddle time than Mark! Bless him:)
Symptoms: Just the normal things like heart burn and fatigue. I do have more energy than I did in the first trimester, still no "nesting" urges though.

Food Cravings: Mexican...like a gallon of guacamole please. I really wanted a crab cake from Jubilee Joes (if you haven't been, make it a trip. It's fantastic!) so Mark took me there Sunday. It was heaven!
Gender: A sweet little princess!

Name: Tenley Hope Arnett

Movement: Much more movement this week!
Best Pregnancy Moment: We spent the entire day Sunday registering for her, Mark took me to lunch, then we came home for some home made philly cheese steak sandwiches. We haven't gotten to spend much time together recently, so an entire day together was awesome. To top it off? Our little turkey butt finally kicked for Mark! She has been evading him all week! I would pay a lot of money to have captured the look on his face. It was one of the sweetest moments this pregnancy so far!

What I Miss: Nothing, I'm really enjoying this stage of pregnancy.
What I'm Looking Forward To: We finally decided on Nursery decorations and theme, so I'm ready to get started on that!
